Senior Data Engineer

About the Role: Foodsmart is the leading telenutrition and foodcare solution, backed by a robust network of Registered Dietitians. We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to construct and optimize our data pipeline architecture. You will be pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining highly scalable data pipelines, optimizing data delivery, and automating data processes to support advanced analytics and machine learning.

What You'll Do

• Architect, build, and maintain robust, high-throughput data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Lead the optimization and scalability of data delivery pipelines, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Establish best practices for data quality, governance, security, and compliance.
• Partner with data scientists and analysts to design solutions meeting business objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and influence broader data platform strategy.

What You Bring

• 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering leading large-scale, complex projects.
• Deep expertise in modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery) and advanced SQL skills.
• Proficiency in data pipeline/workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Dagster, Luigi).
• Solid programming background (Python, Scala, or Java) and backend development experience (TypeScript, Node.js).
• Bonus: Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7) or other regulated data domains.
