Job Description
### About the Role
Empassion is a pioneering Management Services Organization (MSO) dedicated to transforming the landscape of advanced illness and end-of-life care. Our mission is to significantly improve the quality of care and reduce costs for a critically important, yet often underserved, patient population. This demographic represents a small fraction of the Medicare population but accounts for a disproportionately large share of its overall costs. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be at the forefront of this mission, leveraging complex healthcare data to uncover critical insights that drive strategic decision-making, optimize patient outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency.
This high-impact role requires a blend of analytical prowess, deep curiosity, and a commitment to our patient-centric mission. You will play a pivotal part in identifying trends, evaluating interventions, and forecasting future needs, directly contributing to our goal of providing more compassionate and cost-effective care. You will work within a dynamic, cross-functional environment, collaborating closely with clinical, operational, and executive leadership teams to translate data into actionable strategies that make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable patients. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned data professional to apply their skills in a meaningful way, helping to redefine healthcare standards.
### Key Responsibilities
* Lead complex data analysis projects from inception to completion, identifying key trends, patterns, and insights related to patient utilization, clinical outcomes, and cost drivers within the advanced illness population.
* Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated dashboards, reports, and analytical tools using leading Business Intelligence (BI) platforms to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and visualize complex data for diverse stakeholders.
* Translate intricate data findings and statistical analyses into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for clinical, operational, and executive teams, facilitating informed decision-making.
* Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, establish robust metrics, and ensure consistent reporting standards across the organization.
* Architect and implement scalable data models to support advanced analytics, predictive modeling initiatives, and comprehensive reporting needs.
* Conduct ad-hoc analyses to address urgent business questions, support strategic initiatives, and respond to evolving regulatory and market demands.
* Ensure the highest standards of data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and analytical excellence within the team.
* Proactively identify opportunities for data-driven process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices in data governance and analytics.
### What We're Looking For
* A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience as a Data Analyst, with a strong preference for experience within the healthcare industry, MSOs, health plans, or payer environments.
* Expert-level proficiency in SQL for complex data extraction, manipulation, and analysis of large, multi-source datasets.
* Extensive experience with leading Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or QlikView, including dashboard development and report automation.
* Strong command of statistical analysis techniques and familiarity with statistical software or programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis and modeling.
* Proven ability to work with large, complex healthcare datasets, including Medicare claims data, electronic health record (EHR) data, and other clinical or administrative data sources.
* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
* Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
* A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Public Health, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is highly preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment, with strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
### Benefits
* Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
* Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and company holidays.
* Robust health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
* 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions.
* Flexible remote work environment, promoting work-life balance.
* Opportunities for professional development, continuous learning, and career advancement.
* A mission-driven culture where your work directly impacts patient care and improves lives.
* Collaborative and supportive team environment focused on innovation and excellence.
