Senior AI Engineer – Back-Office Workflow Automation

Lumenalta is a global technology consultancy partnering with forward-thinking organizations to build scalable solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior AI Engineer to join a high-growth fintech project focused on back-office workflow automation for community banks, mortgage, and insurance institutions.

This is an opportunity to design and deploy production-grade AI systems (not just prototypes or wrappers) while shaping a flexible, modern architecture alongside an accomplished executive team.

Key Responsibilities

• AI System Design: Design, build, and deploy AI models into production, ensuring they are robust and scalable for enterprise use.
• Intelligent Automation: Build intelligent routing systems (e.g., auto-approval for simple loans/accounts vs. escalation to humans for complex cases).
• Backend Development: Develop and maintain backend Python services that power intelligent automation workflows.
• Data Pipelines: Implement enterprise-scale data pipelines for ingesting and processing financial/regulatory documents, including automated data quality checks.
• Model Training: Train and optimize models based on banking rules, compliance standards, and regulatory datasets.
• Architecture: Collaborate with engineering leadership to shape architecture, delivery models, and stack decisions.

Requirements

• Experience: 3–5+ years in AI/ML engineering with a track record of deploying AI into production at scale.
• Core Tech Stack: Strong backend Python skills and expertise with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-Learn.
• Data Engineering: Familiarity with modern data pipeline tools such as Airflow, Spark, and Kafka.
• Orchestration Tools: Experience with workflow orchestration frameworks such as n8n or LangGraph is highly desired.
• Applied AI: Background in building enterprise applications such as Chatbots, Workflow Automation, RAG Pipelines (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), or Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).
• Domain Knowledge: Understanding of regulated industries (Finance, Insurance) and "compliance-first" design.
• Time Zone: Candidates must maintain a 6-hour overlap with Eastern U.S. business hours.
