Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Accountant – Tax & Audit to join our Corporate Accounting team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, Tax and Compliance, this role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. This position is deadline-driven and involves a variety of accounting responsibilities, including supporting seven statutory audits, tax compliances, journal entry preparation, and month-end close.

As a Senior Accountant, you will analyze financial data, maintain accurate records, and collaborate across teams to ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations. You will also have the opportunity to recommend and implement process improvements while working closely with mid-level management and executive financial leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure financial close deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly balance sheets, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Research technical accounting topics and draft internal accounting memos
  • Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Project Accounting teams to align accounting policies and workflows with financial reporting
  • Support international statutory audit matters
  • Support the Accounting Manager, Tax and Compliance in serving as the primary point of contact for up to eight statutory audits across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions
  • Gradually assume increased ownership of statutory audits over time, with the goal of becoming a primary contact for designated entities
  • Assist in the audit process, including planning, timeline coordination, and audit readiness activities
  • Prepare trial balances and supporting schedules in accordance with local statutory requirements
  • Coordinate responses to audit requests, PBC lists, and auditor inquiries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Partner with other departments to gather documentation and resolve audit issues
  • Track audit deliverables, monitor deadlines, and communicate status updates to the Accounting Manager, Tax and Compliance
  • Support tax returns and compliance matters
  • Gather data and respond to IRS and state notices
  • Ensure adherence to compliance deadlines, including tax extensions, filings, and reporting requirements
  • Prepare and submit various tax-related forms, such as Sales and Use and VAT tax returns
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting experience a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint is a plus
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solutions-oriented mindset
