About the Role: SKELAR is a venture builder that builds international product IT companies. Storyby is our rapidly growing entertainment tech business that turns novels into short-form series, aiming to be the 'Netflix of the world of romantic stories.' We are looking for a Scriptwriter who will create stellar trailers and plots for our vertical films. This role can be hybrid in Kyiv or fully remote.
What challenges await
- Writing scripts for vertical series (episodes 50–120 sec).
- Developing series plots: building arcs, character development, and dramaturgy.
- Creating strong hooks in the first seconds and cliffhangers at the end of each episode.
- Generating ideas for new series and formats and adapting stories to the fast pace of short-form content.
- Collaborating with producers, directors, and editing teams to implement scripts.
- Script iterations based on performance metrics (retention, watch time).
Must-have
- Experience writing vertical series and working with fast-paced, short-form scripts.
- Strong understanding of dramaturgy and serial storytelling (ability to build structure: hook - conflict - cliffhanger).
- Portfolio (required).
- Understanding of platform trends (ReelShort, Dramabox, etc.).
- English at B2 level or higher (written).

- Basic understanding of metrics (retention, CTR, completion rate).
