Sales Manager, Commercial In-House

Job Description

About the Role: Spellbook is the most comprehensive AI copilot for transactional lawyers. We are looking for a Commercial Sales Manager to build, lead, and scale our In-House (Commercial) sales team. Reporting to the VP Sales, you will have the opportunity to influence go-to-market strategy, sales processes, and team culture while driving predictable, high-value revenue growth across mid-market and commercial accounts.

What You'll Do

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing commercial sales team, fostering a results-driven culture.
  • Manage team performance against revenue targets, focusing on pipeline generation, deal progression, and forecast accuracy.
  • Lead and refine a structured, multi-stage sales process to support longer deal cycles and complex buying groups.
  • Develop and scale sales playbooks, case studies, and objection-handling assets tailored to in-house legal teams.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to align on account-based strategies.
  • Track and analyze key sales metrics (pipeline coverage, win rates, deal cycle length, ACV).
  • Actively support strategic deals by coaching on stakeholder mapping, value-based selling, and negotiation strategies.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience managing a commercial or mid-market sales team.
  • Demonstrated success in a quota-carrying B2B SaaS sales role, closing complex, multi-threaded deals.
  • Strong understanding of commercial sales motions, including pipeline management, MEDDICC, and forecast discipline.
  • Experience selling to in-house legal teams, corporate functions, or regulated industries is highly preferred.
  • Strong operational skills with experience implementing or scaling sales processes and tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to coach teams on value-based and consultative selling.
