Job Description

RenoFi is a fintech platform that enables homeowners to borrow against the "After Renovation Value" of their home. We are seeking a Renovation Project Consultant to join our operations unit. This role is best suited for a professional who is, or was recently, a General Contractor, HUD Consultant, or Construction Consultant. You will review construction documents to determine feasibility, accuracy, and budget alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Feasibility Analysis: Complete reviews of residential construction documents (plans, specs, contracts) to create feasibility reports.
  • Estimate Verification: accurately and quickly determine the accuracy of data regarding construction estimates, budgets, and timelines.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify key factors determining project success (budget, timeline, accuracy) even when ideal documentation is missing.
  • Independence: Work independently with limited oversight, taking full ownership of the accuracy of each analysis report.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the Head of Mortgage Lending Operations to refine submission requirements and best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a General Contractor (or job equivalent).
  • Document Skills: 5+ years of experience reading construction contracts and evaluating plans/specs, floor plans, and itemized breakdowns.
  • Software: Applicant must have access or subscription to professional construction estimating software.
  • Work Style: Ability to determine accuracy in costs and timelines quickly.
  • Location: Remote role; candidates in US or GMT-adjacent timezones will be prioritized.

Why Join RenoFi?

  • Mission: Help homeowners renovate years earlier than feasible by unlocking their home's future value.
  • Flexibility: Fully remote role with a flexible workload (currently ~10 hours/week).
  • Backing: Backed by top investors like First Round Capital and Comcast Ventures.
