Why LeoLabs? At LeoLabs, we're building the living map of activity in space. Through our proprietary global radar network and AI-enabled analytics platform, we collect millions of measurements daily on more than 25,000 objects in low Earth orbit (LEO). Our radar-powered intelligence protects billions in assets, monitors adversarial behavior, and ensures safe operations for commercial and government missions.

We are currently looking for a Radar Software Engineer to support our growing team. Our Radar Systems group develops, maintains, and operates advanced software for phased array radars. This role would be responsible for many areas of our software stack at our radars including deploy infrastructure, monitoring stack, real-time GPU processing software, and test infrastructure.

Daily work focuses on software development in the following key areas:

  • Software Development & System Reliability: Build out tests and observability tooling, improve unit test speed, develop and integrate system/integration tests, rewrite and harden the radar deployment system, maintain CI pipelines and GitHub Actions workflows.
  • Infrastructure & Data: Develop new data plotting and file writing utilities, benchmark and analyze Linux system tuning for real-time radar applications.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in Python for services, tooling, and automation
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of software testing practices
  • Experience with REST API design and implementation
  • Ability to work effectively across software, infrastructure, and operations teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, plus 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
  • Experience with database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL), query writing, and schema design
  • Demonstrated experience improving developer experience: test infrastructure, local dev tooling, or deployment automation
