Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced, technical, and hands-on Automation QA Lead to join our expanding engineering team. In this hybrid leadership capacity, you will remain deeply technical—writing, enhancing, and maintaining script architectures—while directly managing and mentoring a dedicated squad of 4 to 5 QA Automation Engineers. This role requires extensive expertise architecting automation testing frameworks utilizing Playwright with Python to validate business-critical workflows, EDI data pipelines, and multi-tier enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-On Framework Engineering: Architect, enhance, and scale robust end-to-end automation test suites utilizing Playwright + Python across FUT, SIT, and UAT execution phases.
• Enterprise Data Validation: Design rigorous validation rulesets for complex EDI transactions, cross-border business-critical reports, and deep backend database assertions.
• Team Leadership & Code Quality: Direct task allocation, run balance workload sweeps across parallel sprints, and conduct thorough automated script code reviews and skill-building sessions for 4–5 Automation Engineers.
• Quality Governance: Define and enforce engineering‑grade QA best practices, testing guidelines, defect prevention frameworks, and coding standards across the distributed team.
• Cross-Functional Roadmap Syncs: Collaborate closely with engineering leads, product managers, and project managers in India and North America to shape quality roadmaps, mitigate release risks, and ensure target test coverage.
• Telemetry Monitoring: Track and report key software performance indicators including Defect Detection Rate, Test Execution Efficiency, and Defect Leakage Rates to executive leadership and clients.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related quantitative computing field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in Software Test Automation, including at least 3+ years operating in a formal QA Lead, Test Architect, or Senior Automation Engineer capacity.
• Mandatory Technical Core: Deep, hands-on production expertise building and scaling automated testing architectures via Playwright with Python.
• Advanced data query proficiency navigating PL/SQL for deep backend, regression, and structural database data validations.
• Proven background executing automated validations for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data models and enterprise transactional records.
• Solid experience coordinating within fast-paced Agile/Scrum delivery loops supported by task tools like JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management mechanics to interact confidently across distributed cross-border teams and client partners.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

• Previous background designing regression libraries using Selenium automated web drivers.
• Prior domain experience working within supply chain networks, supply chain tech setups, warehouse management systems (WMS), or e-commerce fulfillment logic.
