Position Overview

We are seeking a highly sophisticated, data-minded Product Manager to join our core global Product division in a full-time salaried remote capacity within Portugal. Moving far beyond abstract design templates, you will embed alongside engineering, UI/UX design, and customer success teams to deliver features that empower global merchants to optimize brick-and-mortar store floors through data-driven decisions. This high-agency role demands a seasoned product manager who has felt the stakes of running data-heavy SaaS architectures, possesses robust data science literacy, and is eager to bridge technical abstractions with real frontline physical environment needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Roadmap Architecture: Lead, define, and expand the long-term strategic product roadmap for Focal Systems’ core data-heavy B2B SaaS platform layer.
  • Model Performance Monitoring: Plan, analyze, and oversee key evaluation metrics tracking the accuracy, latency, and operational stability of our production computer vision models and data pipelines.
  • SQL & Data Science Instrumentation: Query and explore relational database structures natively utilizing SQL, leveraging a data-driven mindset to discover optimization areas and performance bottlenecks.
  • Cross-Functional Vision Execution: Partner tightly with cross-functional software engineers, platform designers, and customer success specialists to move product features from concept to production.
  • Enterprise Client Integrations: Interface directly with technical leads at the largest retail enterprises worldwide, facilitating the seamless integration of our deep learning tools into their live operational processes.
  • Rigorous Backlog Prioritization: Capture, organize, and prioritize platform feature requests, runtime bugs, and infrastructure updates, keeping clear documentation and project progress trackers up to date.
  • Continuous Customer Discovery: Conduct frequent, qualitative client interview loops, field surveys, and on-site retail store visits to gather firsthand operational feedback from physical shop floors.
  • Agile Product Iteration: Drive rapid software iteration cycles, balancing urgent client patches with long-term infrastructure health while staying aligned with our core business values.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of verified professional history running digital product management, software product marketing, technical systems analysis, or full-scale data platform delivery.
  • 2+ years of dedicated experience operating in a Product Manager seat managing a data-heavy B2B Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application layout.
  • Demonstrated technical data literacy, highlighting hands-on history writing database queries using SQL and leveraging data science primitives.
  • Proven capacity to manage a multi-quarter product roadmap, validate core use cases, and translate user feedback into clear technical system requirements.
  • Prior experience executing within rapid-growth startup or scale-up business models with a strong baseline understanding of modern software development life cycles.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication mechanics, with an absolute capacity to cooperate smoothly across both technical development squads and non-technical business partners in fluent English.
  • Willingness to Travel: Readiness to engage in localized and international travel for physical retail store discovery loops and executive client sessions.
  • Location Context: Full-time parameters open exclusively to qualified product leaders permanently located anywhere within Portugal to operate 100% remotely via an established Employer of Record (EOR) framework.

  • Calibrated European Base Remuneration: An attractive full-time base salary structured transparently between €50,000 – €65,000 per year, supplemented by valuable corporate stock options.
  • The exceptional professional canvas to directly direct, code-shape, and launch the deep learning computer vision platforms redefining physical retail across global markets.
  • Profound work-from-home remote parameters providing a flexible schedule, independent workspace planning, and zero physical office travel friction within Portugal.
  • Comprehensive health and security benefits, including dedicated pension plan enrollments in accordance with regional regulations.
  • Generous time-off parameters encompassing flexible paid time off (PTO) allocations alongside structured parental leaves and dedicated paid sick leave.
