About Robots & Pencils: Robots & Pencils is an elite applied AI engineering firm and product studio dedicated to building the next frontier of enterprise business architecture. We design, iterate, and deploy specialized AI co-workers that integrate directly into client operations to deliver rapid, measurable commercial results. Combining deep UX capabilities with senior software engineering talent (our teams average 15+ years of experience), we are completely all-in on AWS to ship production-ready AI within 30 to 45 days, serving as the nimble alternative to traditional global systems integrators.

Position Overview

We are seeking a high-agency, delivery-focused Product Manager to own product delivery across complex, in-flight digital engagements. In this role, you will lead the development of an AI-powered workforce coordination platform designed to automate real-time crew assembly through intelligent voice interactions and backend decisioning loops. Working as a core pillar within a senior cross-functional team, you will manage backlog health, define structured requirements, and govern sprint execution loops end-to-end. This position demands a candidate who thrives within tight timelines, embraces an AI-forward workflow, and balances technical engineering with exceptional user creativity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Backlog & Scope Governance: Own, refine, and prioritize the product delivery backlog, ensuring all tasks are pre-mapped against specific client business outcomes.
  • Agile Requirement Engineering: Translate broad client stakeholder requests into granular, technical user stories, structured documentation matrices, and robust acceptance criteria.
  • Sprint Execution Delivery: Facilitate sprint planning ceremonies, daily standups, and backlog refinements to ensure developers and designers maintain high velocity.
  • AI-Assisted Operations Optimization: Bring an AI-forward mindset to daily product administration, leveraging advanced tools like Claude to accelerate research, competitor analysis, and spec drafting.
  • Risk & Dependency Mitigation: Identify, track, and manage cross-component system dependencies, deployment risks, and product scope changes across the client lifecycle.
  • Client Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary trusted delivery partner, leading technical workshops, feedback sessions, and requirement forums with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of verified professional history operating as a Product Manager, Technical Product Owner, or Agile Delivery Lead.
  • Solid conceptual command over agile software development lifecycles, sprint delivery practices, and backlog mapping tools.
  • Proven background writing technical features, product specs, and testing criteria for cross-functional software squads.
  • Demonstrated capability using professional product and delivery management tools (such as Jira, Confluence, and Miro).
  • Hands-on experience incorporating generative AI productivity tools natively into your daily business analytics or planning workflows.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to navigate difficult client prioritization conversations with absolute candor.
  • Location Context: 100% remote-first full-time operational framework restricted exclusively to qualified professionals permanently residing within Canada.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior experience managing client delivery pipelines within a fast-paced technology consulting, agency, or product studio environment.
  • Exposure to cloud computing primitives, specifically including AWS services (Bonus points for AWS Bedrock, ECS, or DynamoDB).
  • Familiarity with cloud communication APIs (such as Twilio) or specialized voice-to-text interface systems.

What We Offer

  • The exceptional opportunity to design and deploy cutting-edge, production-grade AI co-worker platforms for a premier global client base.
  • Highly competitive Canadian compensation structure calibrated transparently against your product delivery experience.
  • Stable remote independence inside a high-performing ecosystem consisting of senior industry experts averaging 15+ years of experience.
  • A flat corporate culture built on high personal ownership, detail obsession, and absolute pride in shipping products that actually matter.
