Physical Education, Health, & Life Skills Teacher

About the Role: Miaplaza is seeking a passionate and resourceful Physical Education, Health, and Life Skills Teacher to join MiaPrep Online High School (MOHS). This is a fully remote, asynchronous teaching role that emphasizes student support, feedback, and mentorship as you guide students in grades 7-12 through a self-paced curriculum without the need to deliver live classes.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate students' assignments for Physical Education, Health, and Life Skills courses, providing comprehensive and encouraging feedback.
• Host virtual group tutoring sessions multiple times per week to clarify concepts and offer additional academic support.
• Maintain a caseload of up to 30 students for personalized advising, mentoring, and quarterly check-ins.
• Act as the primary point of contact for parents and students regarding academic matters.
• Identify struggling students and collaborate with counselors to proactively provide tiered support solutions.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Physical Education (Kinesiology/Exercise Science), Education, or a related field.
• 3+ years of full-time secondary teaching experience in Physical Education and/or Health in the United States.
• Professional experience supporting students in secondary education within the last 5 years.
• Comfortability supporting students in practical Life Skills courses (decision-making, communication, time management).
• Bonus: Personal training or fitness certification (NASM, ACE, ISSA, CrossFit) and prior online teaching experience.

• Expected pay range of $24.95 - $35.07 per hour (approx. $51,896 - $72,945 annually for 40 hours/week).
