Job Description

OnTheGoSystems creates products that millions rely on, including WPML, the industry standard for multilingual WordPress websites. We are hiring a PHP and JS Developer to join our Systems Team. Unlike standard plugin development, this role focuses on building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports thousands of clients daily. We are looking for independent, structured developers who think in milestones and deliver high-quality, scalable code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Core Development: Own tasks from start to finish, writing scalable and maintainable code with a primary focus on PHP and JavaScript.
  • Test Automation: Transition workflows from manual QA to automated testing. You will build and maintain End-to-End (E2E) and performance tests using PHPUnit.
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Manage and improve GitLab pipelines and use AWS CloudWatch to monitor system health.
  • AI Integration: Actively use AI tools to speed up your development workflow and improve efficiency.
  • Code Quality: Ensure all code is covered by automated tests and provide clear, insightful logs to track system performance.

Requirements

  • Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in PHP (Main Focus) and JavaScript.
  • Testing: Proven experience writing and applying automated tests with PHPUnit and E2E testing frameworks.
  • Infrastructure: Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and basic monitoring tools.
  • Mindset: Reliable and structured; able to work independently in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with React or Node.js is a nice bonus.

Benefits & Perks

  • 100% Remote: Work from anywhere in the world; we respect national holidays in your specific country.
  • Wellness: BAMM (Body And Mind Movement) program to support your physical activities and hobbies.
  • Equipment: A computer budget to upgrade your workspace.
  • Learning: A Kindle device with access to the company's Amazon account for unlimited reading.

Safety First

  • Never pay for a job application.
  • Do not share sensitive bank info.
  • Verify the client before starting work.
