Patient Financial Navigation Specialist (PST Time Zone)

About the Role: We are hiring a mid-level Patient Financial Navigation Specialist to join our team at Veracyte. In this role, you will work directly with patients to help them navigate the financial aspects of their healthcare by assessing financial needs, explaining insurance benefits, assisting with payment plans, and financial aid applications. You will serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies to handle billing inquiries and reduce financial stress.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate patient financial situations and guide them through available support options, including verifying insurance coverage.
• Assist with financial aid applications, payment plan setups, and collect payments while explaining out-of-pocket costs.
• Handle patient billing inquiries with confidence and resolve concerns proactively.
• Navigate payor portals, websites, or phone systems to check Eligibility, Prior Auth, and Claim or Appeal statuses.
• Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA.
• Provide administrative support including data entry and updating record-keeping systems.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or business preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in healthcare billing, insurance coordination, or patient financial services.
• Experience with payer portals, claim tracking systems, CRMs (e.g., Salesforce), and Billing Software (e.g., Epic, XiFin, Quadax).
• Strong understanding of health insurance plans, benefits, and coverage verification processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex financial information empathetically.
