WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a paralegal, you will be supporting attorneys in commercial, intellectual property and employment litigation matters. This role assists with all phases of litigation and pre-litigation including case management, drafting correspondence, legal research, discovery coordination, and preparing filings.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The ideal candidate will have good judgement, be detail-oriented, have a general idea of how businesses work (SaaS businesses, a particular plus), and be a quick and eager learner who is looking for a long-term position with a close-knit team. This role requires self-motivation, ownership mentality, effective communication, independent judgment, and excellent client-relationship skills. You will succeed in this role if you are a highly organized, driven, and analytical individual seeking exposure to a complex organization in growth mode.

We are looking for an independent problem solver with a can-do attitude, an elevated level of attention to detail and general information technology and business acumen.

  • Manages intake and distribution of Service of Process
  • Manages the litigation hold process, including initial set up, notices to employees and IT, and ongoing management of litigation holds
  • Performs key responsibilities in responding to discovery requests and other requests for document production, including e-discovery
  • Prepares draft statements for attorney review, including responses to demand letters, cease and desist notices, status updates for internal leadership, etc.
  • Collects and performs initial review of records for responses to third-party subpoenas
  • Manages all phases of litigation support from case inception through resolution, including reviewing and monitoring budgets and spend and coordinating with insurers
  • Updates and maintains internal matter management databases with documents, correspondence and status
  • Collaborates internally with stakeholders and with outside counsel
  • Manages deadlines and coordinates meetings on open matters

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of five years of professional experience with at least five years of experience in litigation and discovery, including experience with electronic discovery.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

This position requires organization, prioritization, and management of multiple complex legal matters including commercial, IP, and employment litigation, with attention to detail and deadlines. We seek candidates with good judgment and discretion, the ability to take initiative, and who can make independent decisions when needed yet still work well with others. Legal operations experience is a plus. Paralegal certification is a plus.
