NHS Payroll Controller - 12 Month FTC

About the Role: As an NHS Pensions Administrator/Payroll Controller, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality, fully managed pension services to NHS clients using Civica's payroll platforms. You'll support a wide range of administrative activities and be the first point of contact for client staff, ensuring queries are resolved promptly, professionally, and in line with service level agreements. This is an entry-level administration role where accuracy, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills are key to success.

What You'll Do

• Handle data input, administrative processing, and maintain paper and electronic records.
• Receive, organise, and process information accurately.
• Answer calls and support customers with basic pension queries.
• Produce benefit statements, process refund requests, and opt members into and out of the NHS Pension Scheme.
• Guide members through the retirement process and submit retirement applications.
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail and assist Senior Pensions Administrators as required.

What You Bring

• Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
• Experience delivering excellent customer service in a customer-focused environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• High levels of accuracy, exceptional attention to detail, and a methodical working style.
• Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
