Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Mid-Level 3D Artist to join our core centralized mobile games development team in a full-time remote capacity across the United Kingdom or Dublin, Ireland. Operating within a high-velocity, milestone-driven AGILE production environment, you will step up to claim individual strategic accountability for managing, designing, and optimizing our comprehensive library of 3D game assets. Shifting completely away from routine graphic design loops or static offline rendering, you will own the end-to-end process of asset creation, rigging, and runtime engine implementation. This position requires an game industry veteran with a documented history in mobile games who sculpts and animates full-character geometries fluidly, structures lightweight mobile-ready assets smoothly under strict brand rules, and works alongside cross-functional developers to implement files directly into game engines under tight sprint deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • High-Quality 3D Model Sculpture: Create, polish, and maintain high-fidelity 3D models for stylized characters, rich environmental settings, and interactive props using Maya, adhering strictly to enterprise brand and company guidelines.
  • Efficient Runtime Engine Integration: Take complete ownership of importing, setting up, and managing your creative assets inside the **Unity** game engine, configuring node hierarchies cleanly natively utilizing Game Dev industry best practices.
  • Advanced Character Rigging and Animation: Develop, test, and implement fluid, engaging animations, character joints, and object rigging structures within Maya to secure lifelike, expressive real-time motion.
  • PBR Texturing and Material Treatment: Map, unwrap, and texture 3D models, applying stylized surfaces, advanced shaders, and high-craft PBR materials natively leveraging 3D Modeling tools like Substance Painter and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Mobile Infrastructure Asset Optimization: Audit, refine, and optimize active model geometry profiles, enforcing strict poly-count restrictions, clean edge-flow topologies, and lightweight texture maps to prevent mobile runtime degradation.
  • Multi-Project Task Governance: Balance and manage creative requirements across multiple active game projects simultaneously, coordinating milestones confidently with design, programming, and art leads.
  • Agile Team Feedback Integration: Participate actively within distributed sprint frameworks, reviewing project logs and incorporating structural feedback from art directors and senior team members into design iterations.
  • Workflow Architecture Documentation: Author and expand precise process documentation, tool runbooks, and file-naming guides to ensure smooth team reference and seamless knowledge transfer.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven professional history running commercial 3D asset creation, native game art engineering, character animation design, mobile app asset optimization, or digital media consulting.
  • Deep, authoritative technical command of 3D art principles, showing a production-tested history managing efficient topology modeling, clean mesh skinning, custom rigging, and runtime texture mapping.
  • Expert-tier software proficiency sculpting characters, building rigs, and animating motion timelines natively utilizing **Maya** design tools.
  • Practical operational familiarity configuring prefabs, setting up lighting structures, and manipulating engine parameters natively leveraging Game Dev mechanics inside the **Unity** ecosystem.
  • Hands-on mastery over digital painting utilities, displaying absolute comfort texturing assets and mapping baking profiles natively using 3D Modeling software including Substance Painter and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication traits in fluent English, enabling uncompromised asynchronous alignment across remote design and programming units.
  • Portfolio Submission Requirement: Mandatory provision of an active, highly visible digital portfolio link showcasing verified commercial examples of your best 3D models, textures, rigs, and mobile animations.
