  • Advise product and engineering teams on privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default principles.

Regulatory & General Compliance

  • Monitor and interpret changes in applicable laws and regulations across Rayda's operating regions and proactively communicate impact to the business.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce internal compliance policies, codes of conduct, and compliance training programmes.
  • Support the preparation of regulatory submissions, licensing applications, and responses to regulatory enquiries.
  • Assess and manage legal and compliance risks in new market entry strategies.
  • Maintain compliance calendars and ensure timely filings, renewals, and statutory obligations are met across all jurisdictions.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Support

  • Act as a trusted legal advisor to product, sales, engineering, finance, and people teams.
  • Train and educate internal stakeholders on relevant legal and compliance topics.
  • Support People & HR teams with employment-related legal matters across jurisdictions.
  • Manage and improve legal operations processes and tooling to increase efficiency at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) and a recognised professional qualification (e.g., BL, SRA, NY Bar, or equivalent).
  • 3 – 6 years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally spanning both in-house and law firm environments.
  • Demonstrable expertise in commercial contracts and corporate law.
  • Hands-on experience with GDPR compliance programmes, DPIAs, DPAs, and data subject rights management.
  • Strong understanding of data protection law across multiple jurisdictions (EU, UK, US, and/or Africa).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a remote, distributed environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus structure.
  • Equity / stock option participation as we scale.
  • Fully remote-first work culture with asynchronous flexibility.
