Job Description

DroneDeploy is the world’s leading reality capture platform, combining robotic automation and AI to empower industries like construction, energy, and agriculture. We are seeking a Lead QA Engineer to drive the evolution of our quality practice. You will move beyond reactive testing to build a proactive quality enablement strategy, influencing the velocity of 70+ engineers and ensuring the reliability of our Digital Twin solutions. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Evolve and execute the quality strategy across multiple engineering teams, starting with Ground Mobile. Metrics Ownership: Define and operationalize quality metrics (ESC/MAU, Change Failure Rate) to identify systemic patterns and guide investments. Modern QA: Champion modern testing approaches (Exploratory, Automation with Playwright/TestRigor, Monitoring) and integrate AI/LLM tools to streamline processes. Mentorship: Mentor QA engineers, elevating them from reactive testers to strategic quality partners. Root Cause Analysis: Analyze incidents and post-mortems to drive prevention strategies rather than just symptom fixes. Requirements Experience: 6+ years of QA engineering experience with a track record of defining quality strategy. Technical Skills: Deep understanding of modern automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright) and mobile/web testing. AI Integration: Demonstrated use of AI tools (LLMs) to enhance QA processes and test planning. Data-Driven: Ability to use quality metrics to drive organizational priorities and reporting. Communication: Strong ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders. Why DroneDeploy? AI-Driven Innovation: Work at the intersection of AI, Robotics, and Reality Capture. Impact: Take full ownership of quality strategy in a high-growth environment. Benefits: Flexible remote work, Comprehensive Healthcare, Drone Certification, and Equity.
