Lead AI/ML Engineer

Xsolla is a global commerce company powering the video game industry, helping over 1,500+ developers (Indie to AAA) fund, distribute, and monetize their games. We are looking for a Lead AI/ML Engineer to join our AdTech team. You will design scalable algorithms in Vertex AI, build user 360 views, and lead the integration of data pipelines to drive churn prediction and recommendation engines.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Architecture: Design, build, and optimize algorithms using Vertex AI and develop scalable data models for recommendation engines.

Data Engineering: Lead integration across MySQL, BigQuery, Redis, Kafka, and GCP Storage.

• Pipeline Management: Implement CI/CD for data pipelines using Git, dbt, and automated testing; define data quality checks.
• Leadership: Mentor junior AI/ML engineers on data modeling and algorithm performance tuning.
• Collaboration: Partner with Data Science and Backend teams to productionize ML features in Snowflake.
• Performance: Tune algorithm performance and establish data partitioning/clustering for fast query execution.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years in AI/ML engineering, with at least 3+ years specifically in Vertex AI.
• Core Tech: Strong proficiency in SQL and Python with proven experience building ETL/ELT at scale.
• Orchestration: Experience with pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, or dbt.
• Data Modeling: Solid understanding of Kimball, Data Vault, or hybrid modeling techniques.
• Infrastructure: Proficiency in Kafka and GCP/AWS for real-time or batch ingestion.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus)

• Background in Ad-Tech, Gaming, or E-commerce recommendation systems.
• Experience with Feature Stores (Feast, Tecton).
• Previous experience leading or managing small machine learning teams.
