Position Overview
We are seeking an ambitious, hands-on Group Financial Controller to act as our core finance leader and take total operational ownership of our multi-entity finance division. Reporting closely to the VP of Finance, you will lead our day-to-day global accounting matrices, engineer robust financial controls, and improve commercial visibility across the organization. This position is perfect for an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified leader who combines deep technical consolidation backgrounds with startup curiosity to support rapid international growth and future capital events.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Control & Closing: Own and stream line our monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close sequences across multiple international jurisdictions.
- Group Consolidation Accounts: Build and maintain consolidated group management ledgers, preparing high-signal performance insights and reporting packs for board members, lenders, and VC investors.
- SaaS Revenue Recognition: Enforce strict data alignment for subscription revenue recognition frameworks in complete accordance with IFRS and international SaaS accounting guidelines.
- Taxation & Statutory Compliance: Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory tax authorities; oversee VAT configurations, corporation tax filings, R&D tax credits tracking, and cross-border statutory compliance.
- Infrastructure & Tooling Scale: Upgrade automated financial reporting workflows and integrate advanced accounting platforms (such as NetSuite and Campfire) to accelerate data accuracy.
- Commercial Partnering: Collaborate cross-functionally alongside RevOps and commercial leadership squads to optimize contract structures, data modeling pipelines, and working capital analytics.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Professional certification status including **ACA, ACCA, CIMA**, or recognized international technical accounting equivalent.
- Significant previous experience operating as a Financial Controller, Accounting Manager, or senior finance leader within a high-growth SaaS, technology startup, or PE/VC-backed enterprise.
- Demonstrated expertise managing multi-entity corporate structures, intercompany accounting entries, and complex multi-currency group consolidations.
- Deep understanding of subscription business models, contract management mechanics, cash-flow projections, and working capital management.
- Advanced analytical mastery navigating **Microsoft Excel** models and enterprise ERP software systems (specifically NetSuite).
- Exceptional verbal presentation and communication skills to influence department heads and defend corporate financial metrics confidently.
- Mandatory Access Factor: Applicants must possess the explicit legal right to work within the United Kingdom without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Location Context: 100% remote working flexibility open to qualified accounting professionals based across the United Kingdom.
