Job Description
DocMe360 is seeking a talented Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team. The Full Stack Developer will provide hands-on technical leadership and contribute across the full software development lifecycle for a cross-functional team supporting the Department of Veteran Affairs. They will be part of a highly agile, small cross-functional team responsible for delivering rapid development across multiple workstreams and products.
Responsibilities
- Software Design & Development
- Design, develop, test, and deploy front-end and back-end components
- Build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces
- Develop and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and database integrations
- Ensure seamless integration between client-side and server-side components
- API & Data Layer Development
- Design and implement RESTful APIs
- Develop data models and integrate with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Optimize queries and application performance
- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Front-End Engineering
- Develop reusable UI components using modern frameworks within the VA ecosystem
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG)
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes into functional interfaces
- DevOps & Deployment
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
- Work with containerization and orchestration tools
- Monitor application performance and support production deployments
- Troubleshoot and resolve cross-stack issues in development and production environments
- Code Quality & Technical Leadership
- Conduct peer code reviews and enforce coding standards
- Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Identify and reduce technical debt
- Mentor other members of the development team and promote engineering best practices
- Agile Collaboration
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives
- Provide technical estimates and trade-off analysis
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, UX researchers, and DevOps teams
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Education and Experience
- 7–9+ years of professional full stack development experience
- Proven experience building end-to-end enterprise applications
- Experience working in agile development environments
- Technical Skills
- Front-End Development Experience in
- React JS
- Sencha Ext JS 4.2 (legacy framework)
- Vanilla JavaScript and OOP patterns
- REST API integration
- Back-End Development experience in
- Python
- Java EE 8 / Jakarta EE (EJB 3.x, JPA/Hibernate, JAX-RS)
- WildFly Application Server (18+)
- Quartz Scheduler
- JWT-based authentication/authorization
- Microservices architecture patterns experience with
- API & Integration
- FastAPI framework
- RESTful API design and development
- Third-party integrations: AWS SDK (SNS, SQS, STS)
- Data & Persistence experience with
- Relational databases: SQL Server, PostgreSQL
- NoSQL databases: MongoDB (Morphia ORM)
- Cloud, DevOps & Tooling experience using
- AWS (ECS, SNS, SQS, STS)
- Docker (containerization)
- Maven (build automation)
- Git (version control)
- DataDog, DynaTrace (monitoring and observability)
- Testing & Quality
- JUnit
- Mockito
- Domain & Regulatory Experience
- Healthcare domain knowledge (appointments, notifications, patient tracking)
- Experience with healthcare/government systems and compliance considerations
- Problem-Solving & Communication
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across the full stack
- Ability to analyze complex system interactions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in product development at the VA
- Experience supporting federal or regulated environments
- Experience modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native architectures
- Experience leading technical initiatives or feature teams
Benefits
- Salary range for this role is $130,000-$170,000
