By engineering a high-performance calendar data infrastructure that acts as a secure single source of truth across its digital ecosystem, Calendly eliminates traditional appointment friction for millions of active users. Operating under a highly collaborative, remote-first model, the organization unifies cross-functional engineering pods, design system teams, and infrastructure partners to build resilient, elegant web tools that empower global teams to connect and collaborate with confidence.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly sophisticated, systems-minded Frontend Platform Engineer III to join our core global App Platform cell in a full-time remote capacity within the United States. In this highly critical frontend platform infrastructure seat, you will claim absolute technical ownership over designing, scaling, and maintaining the shared codebases, foundational capabilities, and application abstractions that power our entire digital product portfolio. Moving completely past narrow feature execution, you will act as a primary developer experience (DevEx) catalyst, enabling internal engineering squads to ship features safely and smoothly without sacrificing codebase reliability. This role demands an expert-tier React architecture authority who excels at solving complex cross-app dependency issues, building real-time data delivery pipelines, and guiding large-scale software migrations collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
- Shared Frontend Package Governance: Build, publish, and maintain the ecosystem of shared frontend libraries and packages utilized across numerous multi-tenant web applications.
- React Architecture Engineering: Develop and evolve the foundational frontend application architecture and shared application scaffolding used as a base for launching new software modules.
- Real-Time UX Infrastructure: Design and scale low-latency real-time UX infrastructure, managing server-to-client data delivery streams to fuel responsive user interfaces.
- Developer Tooling Optimization: Construct and refine developer tooling, automated linters, and observability infrastructure to maximize internal engineering velocity and runtime performance.
- Dependency Lifecycle Automation: Build resilient systems and processes that keep frontend package versions, third-party libraries, and shared dependencies stable and aligned across teams.
- Large-Scale Migration Leadership: Coordinate and execute complex software migrations, seamlessly guiding teams through major library upgrades, routing overhauls, and state management transitions.
- Cross-Functional Platform Partnerships: Collaborate closely alongside design system teams, product engineers, and DevOps cells, acting as a trusted technical advisor who translates business demands into scalable platform abstractions.
- Operational Excellence & On-Call Triage: Ensure rigorous uptime for core platform tools through thoughtful automated testing and system monitoring, participating within on-call rotations to support business-critical software layers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of verified professional history running advanced frontend architecture, web application development, cloud systems engineering, or technical product delivery inside a B2B SaaS company.
- Authoritative technical command building high-performance web spaces natively utilizing React, TypeScript, and Webpack (or comparable modular bundlers).
- Proven background designing, versioning, and deploying shared components, platform packages, or common utility libraries across multi-tenant teams.
- Demonstrated expertise tracking and debugging complex cross-app build pipelines, runtime dependency trees, and continuous integration (CI/CD) deployment lines.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication mechanics, with a proven ability to explain architectural trade-offs to product groups and manage technical alignment with empathy.
- Employment Framework Requirement: Full legal authorization to work lawfully within the United States of America (immigration sponsorship or visa transfers are entirely unavailable at this time).
- Location Context: Full-time remote-first parameters open exclusively to qualified frontend infrastructure leads permanently located anywhere within the United States.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Direct professional background in specialized Platform Engineering, Developer Experience (DevEx), or internal core framework development pods.
- Practical familiarity implementing micro-frontend (MFE) architectures, module federation structures, and asset integration pipelines.
- Hands-on asset history authoring shared packages from scratch (such as custom datetime utilities, Server-Sent Events/SSE clients, or strict ESLint plugins).
- Familiarity with RTK Query caching architecture models, Storybook UI component testing infrastructure, or feature flagging SDK deployments.
What We Offer
- Experience-Calibrated Base Compensation: An attractive annual salary package structured across transparent, location-mapped compensation bands: Tier 1: $187,680 – $227,424 USD | Tier 2: $172,040 – $208,472 USD | Tier 3: $156,400 – $189,520 USD.
- The exceptional professional canvas to directly program, own, and advance the underlying app infrastructure used by millions of digital users and hundreds of product engineers.
- Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering total lifestyle flexibility, independent schedule planning, and zero geographical office constraints inside the US.
- Integration into an elite, technology-first workplace culture that removes bureaucratic friction to prioritize system-level thinking, curiosity, and high engineering quality.
