Fraud Specialist (Trust & Safety)

Vercel, the cloud infrastructure platform used by companies like PayPal, Supreme, and Under Armour, is seeking a Fraud Specialist to join their Trust & Safety team. Your mission is to protect the integrity of the platform against abuse areas such as fraud, phishing, malware, CSAM, and IP infringement. You will collaborate across Operations, Product, and Engineering to strengthen Vercel's fraud prevention capabilities and mitigate risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigation: Investigate abuse vectors causing financial loss or reputational risk to the business.
• Systems Management: Monitor, maintain, and improve fraud detection and anomaly alerting systems.
• Incident Response: Represent Trust & Safety during incident response and create mitigation processes.
• Operational Scaling: Develop and refine operational workflows to scale fraud prevention efforts.
• Cross-Functional Work: Work with Engineering and Finance to manage internal tooling and fraud rules.

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in fraud operations, chargeback investigations, or Trust & Safety.
• Data Driven: Ability to take large data sets and distill key insights into actionable trends; ability to set and track KPIs.
• Tech Familiarity: Experience with abuse detection systems that leverage Machine Learning (ML) and/or LLMs for large-scale enforcement.
• Restriction Systems: Experience with user restriction systems and optimizing operational workflows.
• Soft Skills: Proven track record of working cross-functionally to deliver impactful results.

Nice to Have

• SQL Skills: Ability to create and interpret SQL queries.
• Domain Knowledge: Experience in Web Hosting, User Generated Content (UGC), or the payments landscape.
• Tooling: Experience using abuse-related ticketing and case management systems.

Location Policy

• Hybrid: If you live near San Francisco, New York, London, or Berlin, you will work in-office on Mon, Tue, Fri.
• Remote: If you are located beyond commuting distance of these hubs, the role is Fully Remote.
