Founding Backend/Platform Engineer (AI & Infrastructure)

MobileBoost (YC S21) is building an AI-native QA solution for mobile apps, used by world-class teams like Duolingo, Salesforce, and Groupon. We are looking for a Founding Backend/Platform Engineer to join our remote team and build the foundation of our product before our Series A. Our product, GPT Driver, starts with functional end-to-end automation for mobile apps, a space where existing tools fall short.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Ownership: Own and develop the platform layer of the product, including runtimes and supporting backend systems.
• Infrastructure: Build systems to run mobile emulators/simulators and headless browsers in isolated cloud environments.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with a small team of frontend and fullstack AI engineers to define and scale systems.
• Generalist Mindset: Solve problems across the stack, exploring new territories in Distributed Systems and Software Architecture.

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of relevant engineering experience, ideally with exposure to fast-paced startup environments.
• Core Stack: Strong experience with Python, Docker, Nginx, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• System Knowledge: Deep understanding of Linux, Bash/Shell, and building/maintaining cloud-based backend systems.
• Niche Skills: Experience (or strong interest) in Android/iOS infrastructure, specifically running emulators and simulators programmatically.
• Remote Ready: Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fully remote setup.
