Essay Editor / Homework Grader

About the Role: JadeClass Education Singapore provides enrichment education to bright students planning to continue their education abroad. We are seeking hardworking Essay Editors and Homework Graders to conduct weekly gradings according to our rubric, focusing on concrete skills to help students in their learning endeavors.

What You'll Do

• Conduct weekly assessments of student essays (500–1,500 words) focusing on grammar precision, lexical appropriateness, and logical coherence.
• Identify error patterns, provide specific corrections with examples, and offer actionable suggestions to enhance clarity.
• Evaluate grammar exercises, vocabulary assignments, and short-form writing tasks.
• Maintain consistent grading standards across diverse assignments.
• Write constructive, student-friendly comments and feedback in English.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of experience in academic editing, proofreading, or ESL instruction.
• Native English Speaker or advanced proficiency in English (IELTS 7.5+/TOEFL 100+ or equivalent).
• Expertise in grammar rule application, stylistic adjustments, and familiarity with ESL pedagogy/common learning challenges.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, or Education; experience grading TOEFL/IELTS essays; proficiency in Adobe.
