Our employees are an engaging, diverse group of people who believe in the power of great ideas. We hire people with different experiences and perspectives to build a company culture that fuels growth through innovation.

We value thoughtful actions and empathy for others. We approach challenges with resiliency and creativity, while encouraging transparency because, no matter our backgrounds or responsibilities, we are one team.

About the Role

We’re looking for a qualified Engineering Manager to join and lead our App and Display Management Team in San Diego, CA (or remote). As part of the App and Display Management Team, you will be responsible for our enterprise-grade Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile App Management (MAM) solutions. These products enable fleet managers to control their drivers’ experience with the click of a button.

In this role, you will lead a team of full-stack developers focused on delivering the strategic product roadmap of our App and Display Management solutions. The team is currently reinventing our MDM and MAM solutions, bringing many new challenges and opportunities to influence the architecture of our codebase.

As an Engineering Manager, you are eager to lead and mentor teams working in multiple languages and frameworks, and contribute to future architecture decisions. While our primary work is in web development, we also work very closely with Android applications as part of our MDM and MAM solutions, so any mobile development experience or knowledge of modern Android frameworks you have is a plus.

If you’re excited by the idea of solving complex challenges and working with an incredibly talented team, then this is the position for you!

  • Proactively give and receive feedback with a growth mindset
  • Leverage your experience in our tech stacks to guide the team in development of a new mobility management product
  • Form and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across engineering to achieve alignment with other teams
  • Contribute to existing technical documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product updates
  • Be a driving force for continuous process improvement

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ year managing full stack and/or mobile engineering teams
  • 5+ years of experience as a full stack or mobile software engineer
  • Experience with development using our web tech stack (JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue, Node.js, Express) or modern Android technologies (Kotlin, MVVM, Dependency Injection, Coroutines, and Flows)
  • Experience with API design, development and maintenance in production (REST)
  • Experience with CI/CD, deployment tools, pipelines and processes
  • Familiar with software development best practices and principles (e.g. Docker, microservices, etc)
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust while acting as a servant leader
  • Excellent communication skills, across all job functions, both verbal and written
  • A bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent

What Would Be Great

  • A self-motivated leader with experience building and leading high-performing teams, ideally with remote or hybrid teams
  • Good technical foundation with ability to pick up new skills and adapt quickly
  • A commitment to software craftsmanship and best practices in unit testing, code review, design patterns, etc
  • A track record of inspiring teams to succeed and connecting impact to their work
