Engineering Manager, Core Product

We are looking for a highly driven, growth-minded Engineering Manager to lead a team of full-stack engineers building delightful features that help friends connect every day.

What You'll Do

• Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and Marketing to drive your team’s vision and long-term roadmap.
• Team Growth: Lead and mentor a team of 5+ engineers, fostering their success and professional development.
• Hands-on Execution: Jump into code, pull data, and brainstorm technical solutions alongside your team.
• Operational Excellence: Make first-principle decisions around resourcing and uphold high standards for feature quality.
• Product Advocacy: Partner with org leaders to improve engineering philosophy and drive product decisions based on clear metric goals.

What You Should Have

• Discord Passion: You are an active Discord user who understands the core features and user flow.
• Engineering Foundation: 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer working across the stack (Mobile, Web, Backend).
• Management Experience: 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager leading user-facing product teams.
• Product Sense: A strong customer-first mindset with experience in data-driven product teams.
• Tech Versatility: Comfortable writing code and making direct changes when needed.
• Bonus Points: Experience with social/messaging products or React Native.

Compensation & Perks

• Base Salary: $248,000 – $279,000 USD per year.
