Director, Legal & Compliance

About the Role: NewtonX is a B2B insights company trusted by the world's most innovative companies. We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director, Legal & Compliance to lead and scale both functions. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will manage day-to-day legal operations, oversee compliance programs, and drive cross-functional initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Build and execute a strategic roadmap for both teams, managing 3–4 direct reports.
• Maintain and improve legal procedures for client onboarding and contract lifecycle management (MSAs, NDAs, DPAs).
• Serve as the Ironclad workflow owner, optimizing contract playbooks and templates.
• Oversee compliance operations, including MNPI controls, expert network guidelines, and privacy policies (GDPR, SOC 2).
• Work cross-functionally to operationalize contractual obligations and data protection commitments.

What You Bring

• 7+ years of progressive experience in a combined legal & compliance function, with 2+ years in people management.
• Strong expertise in commercial contract review and negotiation.
• Excellent understanding of data protection and privacy regulations (GDPR, SOC 2, CCPA).
• JD, LLM, or equivalent advanced legal qualification is preferred.
• Bonus: Experience with Ironclad, Salesforce, or in the market research/B2B SaaS industry.
