Job Description

Smily is a remote-first company in the travel/short-term rental industry. We are looking for a Designer with an entrepreneurial spirit to take ownership over the entire UI/UX design. This is a role for a "badass" who can adapt to a fast-paced culture, handling everything from complex product roadblocks to marketing assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • UI/UX Leadership: Conceptualize original ideas, create wireframes, user flows, process flows, and site maps to solve complex design roadblocks.
  • Visual Design: Execute visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Marketing Assets: Design creative assets for social media, email, blogs, digital ads, and investor pitch decks.
  • Brand Identity: Create and maintain a brand style guide to ensure a consistent image across all channels.
  • User Research: Conduct user research, evaluate feedback, and gauge the usability of new/existing products.

Requirements

  • Languages: Must be Fluent in French and Fluent in English (Internal comms are in English).
  • Tool Proficiency: Expertise in Figma, Sketch, Webflow, Adobe XD, or InVision.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (especially for rapid prototyping) is required.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing both creative design and UX/UI experience.
  • Culture Fit: Comfortable in a high-performance, feedback-heavy startup environment where you are expected to challenge assumptions.
