Job Description

About the Role: RegScale is looking for a Design System Designer to take ownership of our evolving design system and bring it from a patchwork of foundational pieces into a mature, scalable toolkit that serves our product teams. This person will be shaping how our entire product organization thinks about UI consistency, accessibility, efficiency, and quality. You'll work closely with product designers, engineers, and product managers to understand what they need, then build and advocate for the system that delivers it.

Core Accountabilities

  • Audit and evolve the existing system: Map what we have today against actual product requirements, identify gaps, and build a prioritized roadmap.
  • Design and specify components: Create new components and refine existing ones with detailed specs (anatomy, states, interaction behavior, responsive considerations, and accessibility). Own the Figma component library.
  • Establish and document standards: Write clear, practical guidelines for usage, composition, layout, spacing, typography, and color application.
  • Champion accessibility: Bake compliance into every component and pattern from the start (color contrast, screen reader behavior, keyboard interaction).
  • Collaborate with engineering: Partner with front-end engineers to ensure design specs translate cleanly into code and participate in implementation reviews.
  • Drive adoption and manage governance: Run office hours, gather feedback, define how changes get proposed/released, and establish processes for deprecation and versioning.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years in product design, with at least 2 years focused on design systems work.
  • Strong systems thinking: naturally seeing the connections between individual components and larger patterns.
  • Sharp visual and interaction design skills with well-organized Figma files.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards and how they apply to interactive components.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to document systems and influence teams.
  • Experience working closely alongside front-end engineers (bonus points for Angular and Tailwind conventions).
  • Strongly Preferred: Familiarity with cybersecurity, risk management, or compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO, SOC 2).

Safety First

  • Never pay for a job application.
  • Do not share sensitive bank info.
  • Verify the client before starting work.
