Job Description

About Garner

Garner’s mission is to transform the healthcare economy, delivering high-quality and affordable care for all.

We are fundamentally reimagining how healthcare works in the U.S. by partnering with employers to redesign healthcare benefits using clear incentives and powerful, data-driven insights. Our approach guides employees to higher-quality, lower-cost care, creating a system that works better for everyone. Patients achieve better health outcomes, employers spend healthcare dollars more effectively, and physicians are rewarded for delivering exceptional care rather than performing more procedures.

Garner is one of the fastest-growing healthcare technology companies in the country. Our products are trusted by the most sophisticated employers and providers in the industry, and we are building a team of talented, mission-driven individuals who are motivated to make a meaningful impact on healthcare at scale.

About the role:

We are seeking an exceptional Data Operations Associate to join our Data team. You’ll work with QA analysts, product managers, data scientists, and data engineers to ensure that the algorithms fueling Garner’s recommendations run on time and produce accurate and reliable data. The Data Operations Associate will also validate data sets, doing independent research to confirm the data sets are reliable inputs. The ideal candidate for this role will be detail-oriented and have some experience with or strong interest in working with data.

Where you will work:

Garner is headquartered in NYC, but this position is available for individuals who are comfortable with remote work and occasional travel to HQ.

What you will do:

  • Curate, validate, clean, and analyze datasets
  • Perform research on various healthcare related subjects
  • Follow documented procedures to complete recurring tasks like performing quality assurance on data
  • Execute monthly operational data pipelines
  • Balance several projects at the same time while maintaining a high degree of quality, organization, and communication
  • Suggest process improvements as you identify them
  • Build and retain detail-oriented working knowledge of Garner processes and data infrastructure

The ideal candidate has:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a major that required critical thinking, attention to detail, and research skills
  • Demonstrated work or academic experience in data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis
  • Familiarity with data manipulation in Google Sheets or Excel; interest in/familiarity with coding languages like SQL
  • A desire to work in a rapidly evolving startup environment; comfortable with some ambiguity
  • A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company in a transformative role, helping shape the future of healthcare.

Please note: we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Compensation Transparency:

The target salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including but not limited to: flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plan options, 401(k), Teladoc Health and more.
