Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to join our core Engineering and Growth collective in a full-time remote capacity. In this cross-disciplinary, data-focused seat, you will work at the direct intersection of instructional strategy and technical systems engineering, collaborating with our instructional design teams to validate, test, and iterate on the data models that drive our proprietary learning algorithms. Moving far beyond abstract spreadsheet logging, you will process messy, real-world data from internal tracking software, configure programmatic validation scripts, and design automated analytics reports. This role is perfectly engineered for a quantitative problem-solver who wants to leverage data science, advanced excel manipulation, and artificial intelligence frameworks to improve educational outcomes at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Mining & Data Hygiene: Perform systematic data extraction, mining, and cleaning across highly diverse, unstructured sources, including web applications, internal operational trackers, and marketing platforms.
  • Programmatic Pipeline Scripting: Write and deploy clean analysis scripts and simple data extraction pipelines using Python data tools (such as Pandas and NumPy) and SQL queries.
  • Advanced Spreadsheet Modeling: Execute deep-dive quantitative reporting inside Excel, utilizing advanced formulas, pivot tables, conditional rules, data simulations, and Solver tools to track organizational velocity.
  • Web Telemetry Analytics: Analyze website traffic logs, tracking user engagement, conversion funnels, and marketing metrics to compile streamlined dashboards and business overview reports.
  • AI Workflow Evaluation: Support internal product development groups in testing, documenting, and iterating on emerging AI-driven workflows, chatbot models, and educational web integrations.
  • SEO Growth Sourcing: Conduct technical search engine optimization (SEO) and keyword performance research to discover prospective regional market scaling and user-acquisition opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Content Mapping: Assist operational leads with content performance analysis, aligning technical infrastructure designs with daily administrative priorities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in or completion of a university degree program focused on Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or an equivalent quantitative discipline.
  • Hands-on coding experience or technical familiarity building data components natively within Python and SQL database systems.
  • Advanced, authoritative user capability inside Microsoft Excel, encompassing pivot reporting, macro simulations, and structured visual charting.
  • Strong math and logical reasoning skills, combined with a meticulous attention to detail and a passion for dealing with complex, real-world datasets.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication mechanics, with an absolute capacity to present data insight summaries cleanly to multi-disciplinary teams.
  • U.S. Work Authorization Context: Open exclusively to individuals holding valid status as a U.S. Citizen, National of the U.S., lawful permanent resident alien, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
  • Location Context: Full-time operational parameters providing qualified interns with the complete flexibility to operate remotely from home anywhere across the United States.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior internship history or academic project portfolio management involving business intelligence tools, marketing analytics, or corporate data modeling.
  • Practical familiarity navigating web analytics and visualization interfaces, such as Google Analytics (GA4), Looker Studio, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with collaborative project frameworks and asynchronous messaging platforms, including Slack and digital task boards.

What We Offer

  • The exceptional professional runway to get in on the ground floor of an exciting, data-forward educational technology startup.
  • A highly visible internship track where your quantitative code scripts and data models translate directly into live product iteration and student diagnostics.
  • Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering high lifestyle flexibility, complete geographic freedom inside the United States, and zero office commute drag.
  • Direct collaboration pathways alongside industry-best technology innovators, providing comprehensive technical mentorship to accelerate your long-term engineering career trajectory.
