Job Description
About the Role: As a Content Engineer in the Cybersecurity vertical at Packt, you will be responsible for owning the content lifecycle from concept to publication. You'll work closely with Relationship Leads, Growth Leads, and Authors to shape learning products so they deliver quality and real-world impact. This role goes beyond editing to engineer content at every stage, evaluating outlines, coaching authors, and ensuring practitioner-focused resources.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate proposals and outlines with a focus on audience relevance and real-world applicability.
- Perform substantive edits to strengthen clarity, structure, and learning outcomes for cybersecurity content.
- Coach authors to translate expertise into actionable, hands-on learning, including real-world case studies and workflows.
- Enhance books with labs, simulations, red-team/blue-team exercises, and walkthroughs.
- Track trends across threat landscapes, vulnerabilities, and AI-driven security challenges to feed insights into product strategy.
What You Bring
- 4+ years of experience in editorial/content development for technical or instructional products.
- Ability to translate complex security concepts into clear, structured learning.
- Strong author/SME management experience with excellent English-language proficiency and editorial judgment.
- Bonus: Familiarity with cybersecurity domains (network security, pentesting, GRC) and awareness of AI in cybersecurity.
