Backend WordPress Developer

Digi mag is looking for a skilled Backend WordPress Developer to join their team remotely. Unlike typical "site builder" roles, this position focuses on developing, customizing, and maintaining the core functionalities, themes, and plugins that power the site. You will be responsible for the technical health of the site, including performance optimization, security, and API integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Custom Development: Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins from scratch (not just installing existing ones).
• Core Maintenance: Maintain core WordPress functionalities and manage database interactions.
• Integrations: Build and manage integrations using REST APIs.
• Optimization: Focus on performance optimization (speed/caching) and site security.
• Database: Handle MySQL database management and optimization.

Requirements

• Tech Stack: Strong experience with WordPress Core, PHP, and MySQL.
• Development: Proven experience in custom plugin and theme development.
• Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of REST APIs, security best practices, and performance tuning.
• Work Style: Ability to work independently in a remote setup without constant supervision.
