Job Description
We have partnered with a fast-growing Bitcoin & Digital Asset Financial Platform that is building core infrastructure for brokerage, exchange, and trading products across Europe. We are seeking a Principal / Staff Backend Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of the backend architecture, leading the re-architecture of systems to support scale, regulatory compliance, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership: Own the end-to-end design and architecture of backend systems for a crypto brokerage and exchange platform.
System Modernization: Lead the rewrite and modernization of core backend services using TypeScript.
Scalable Design: Design secure, scalable systems covering complex flows such as trading, wallets, payments, and financial ledgers.
Standards & Best Practices: Define technical standards and architectural direction to ensure code quality and system reliability.
Collaboration: Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust, production-grade systems.
Requirements
Experience: 8+ years of backend engineering experience with proven success at a Principal or Tech Lead level.
Tech Stack: Deep production experience with TypeScript (Node.js and modern backend frameworks).
Domain Expertise: Proven experience building brokerage, exchange, trading, or lending systems.
System Design: Deep understanding of financial system design, data consistency, and high-availability architecture.
Ownership: Comfortable making high-level architectural decisions and owning systems from concept to deployment.
