Backend Engineer

We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our team at Teya, a leading payment and software service provider dedicated to empowering small, local businesses across Europe. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the robust backend infrastructure that powers our innovative solutions. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and scaling APIs, managing databases, and ensuring the security and performance of our systems. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. A key aspect of this role involves writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code, conducting thorough testing, and participating in code reviews to uphold high-quality standards. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving production issues, contributing to the continuous improvement of our backend services, and staying abreast of emerging technologies. Requirements for this position include a strong understanding of backend development principles, with proven experience in one or more relevant programming languages such as Node.js or Python. Proficiency in database management, including SQL and NoSQL databases, is essential. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and a solid grasp of API design principles (RESTful, GraphQL) are highly desirable. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus. You should possess excellent problem-solving skills, a meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a remote team. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
