AWS Solutions Architect

Department

AWS Services

Employment Type

Contractor

Minimum Experience

Experienced

This is not an architecture role where you hand designs to someone else and hope for the best. You will own the solution from HLD to implementation — working directly with application owners and business stakeholders, making the hard technology calls on Tier 1 and Tier 2 workloads, and providing the technical leadership that keeps engineering teams moving in the right direction. The environment is banking and payments. The applications are complex, the standards are high, and the decisions you make will have consequences. If that is the kind of work you want to be doing, this is the role.

At a Glance

  • 100% remote — anywhere in Europe
  • B2B contract
  • Focus: solution architecture for complex cloud migration in banking and payments
  • Scope: Tier 1 / Tier 2 applications, refactor and replatform scenarios

About Revolgy

Revolgy is a leading multinational provider of digital transformation services, helping over 2,000 clients worldwide get the most from Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services. As a Premier Partner of both Google and Amazon, we take on cloud migration programmes of real scale and complexity.

What We Offer

  • Fully Remote
  • Work from anywhere in Europe.
  • Architecturally Interesting Work
  • Tier 1 and Tier 2 banking workloads are not straightforward migration candidates. Legacy Windows and Linux environments on VMware, complex Oracle and SQL Server databases, integration layers built on ESBs and message queues — this is the kind of work that requires real architectural thinking, not pattern-matching.
  • Client-Facing Influence
  • You will work directly with application owners and business stakeholders, not through layers of account management. Your recommendations will shape how clients approach their most critical workloads.
  • Investment in Your Growth
  • We support professional development and cloud certifications through our AWS and Google Cloud partnerships. Our Continuous Learning mindset is built into how we work, not just what we say.
  • AI-First Culture
  • AI and automation are everyday tools here. You will be expected — and empowered — to use them to work smarter and move faster.
  • Autonomy With Accountability
  • You will have genuine ownership of your architectural scope. We set clear outcomes and rely on your experience to determine how to get there.

What You Will Work On

You will take the lead on solution architecture for complex migration programmes, from initial design through to supporting engineering teams during implementation. In practice, that means:

  • Migration solution design — producing HLD and LLD documentation and integration designs for complex Tier 1 and Tier 2 applications
  • Technology selection and pattern definition — leading the architectural decisions for refactor and replatform scenarios, including database modernisation and integration layer redesign
  • Stakeholder engagement — working directly with application owners and business stakeholders to understand requirements, facilitate workshops, and communicate architectural trade-offs clearly
  • Technical leadership — providing direction and guidance to engineering teams throughout implementation, ensuring the architecture lands as designed

What Makes You a Fit

You will need

  • 8+ years in solution architecture — you have designed complex systems end to end and seen what happens when architecture decisions are made well and when they are not
  • 5+ years in AWS cloud architecture — you know the platform deeply enough to make confident, defensible technology choices
  • Legacy workload modernisation experience — specifically migrating Windows and Linux workloads from VMware environments into AWS
  • Database and data platform expertise — Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL in the context of migration and modernisation
  • Integration architecture depth — APIs, message queues, ETL pipelines, and ESB patterns — and the judgement to know when to retain versus replace them
  • Banking and payments domain knowledge — you understand the regulatory, operational, and technical constraints that shape architecture decisions in this sector

You will thrive here if you

  • Write documentation that engineers actually use — your HLDs and LLDs are precise, unambiguous, and designed to survive handover
  • Can hold a room with business stakeholders — you translate complex architecture into language that lands with non-technical audiences, without dumbing it down
  • Make technology calls and stand behind them — you have the experience to justify your decisions and the confidence to defend them when challenged
  • Stay engaged through implementation — you treat the engineering phase as part of your responsibility, not a handoff point

Our Process

We keep our hiring process efficient and transparent. Here is what to expect:

  • Async Introduction — A short application form and a brief video introduction, on your schedule.
  • People & Culture Call (60 min) — A Google Meet conversation about your background and approach, with exercises and puzzles to understand how you think.
  • Meet the Team (60 min) — You will meet your future collaborators and work through role-specific exercises — the kind you would encounter on the engagement.
  • Alignment & Offer — We align on scope, rate, timeline, and ways of working before getting started.

If you want architecture work where the complexity is real, the client relationships are direct, and your decisions actually matter — we would love to hear from you.

Safety First

  • Never pay for a job application.
  • Do not share sensitive bank info.
  • Verify the client before starting work.
