Job Description

We are looking for Audio Editing Specialists who live and breathe sound design to help power the next generation of AI. Large-scale language models are evolving from chatbots into engines of multimedia understanding. You will challenge these models on topics like EQ balancing, compression, spatial audio, and DAW workflows, documenting failure modes to harden the model's reasoning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Interaction: Converse with the AI model on complex editing scenarios and theoretical audio engineering questions.
  • Verification: Verify the technical accuracy and creative logic of the model's responses regarding mixing, mastering, and vocal processing.
  • Error Analysis: Capture reproducible error traces and document "failure modes" where the AI gets it wrong.
  • Improvement: Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics to enhance the model's capabilities.

Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Acoustics, or a closely related field is ideal.
  • Experience: Professional studio experience, a strong editing portfolio, or hands-on work in post-production.
  • DAW Proficiency: Deep expertise in tools like Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Logic Pro, Reaper, or Ableton Live.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong grasp of waveform editing, noise reduction, automation envelopes, and spatial audio.
  • Communication: Clear, metacognitive communication ("showing your work") is essential to explain why an answer is correct or incorrect.

Logistics & Compensation

  • Pay Rate: $8 - $65 per hour, determined by experience and geographic location.
  • Equipment: You must supply your own secure computer and high-speed internet.
  • Benefits: As an independent contractor, company-sponsored benefits (Health/PTO) do not apply.

Safety First

  • Never pay for a job application.
  • Do not share sensitive bank info.
  • Verify the client before starting work.
