Introduction to D2L

New models of teaching and learning enable a personalized, student-centric experience – and deliver improved retention, engagement, satisfaction, and results for learners of all ages – in schools, campuses, and companies.

About the Role

As an Associate Product Manager, you will be responsible for the full delivery of the Advanced Chat & Agents area of D2L Lumi, our award-winning AI product suite. This role is perfect for someone entrepreneurial, someone who has an engineering or a product background, or someone who is driven and excited to build at the frontier of conversational AI and agentic platform technologies.

You will report directly to the Director of Product Management - Artificial Intelligence and will have meaningful, independent leadership opportunities over your product area from day one. You will partner closely with external partners and Product Leadership across the organisation, as well as Engineering, and Design. You will also hold relationships with go-to-market teams that help define the future of conversational AI in Brightspace, one of the world’s leading education technology platforms. You will shape the product direction of your area with our partners, translate strategy into execution, and deliver customer value quickly, responsibly, and with an analytical mindset.

This role is central to the conception, definition, and execution of some of the most important roadmap initiatives in D2L’s AI strategy, and it is responsible for some of its fastest growth and most impactful technology deliveries.

  • Collaborate with leadership and strategy stakeholders to align roadmap priorities to business and market objectives
  • Grow the revenue impact of the Lumi Chat and Lumi Tutor conversational AI technology in cooperation with go-to-market teams to define growth and revenue-impacting goals and initiatives, pricing, packaging, and partner relationships

  • High energy and full of enthusiasm about the opportunities AI bring as a technology platform shift
  • Excited and curious about the impact of AI on Education as a specific vertical

Skills:

In addition to this, you probably also have:

  • Interest in technology, business fundamentals and an understanding of "how to build"
  • Interest in conversational AI, agentic systems, and software patterns enabled by AI
  • Interest and experience building with AI, especially through the use of agentic agents and autonomous systems
  • Great communications skills, whether in data, words, your voice, or all three

And you might also have one or more of:

  • Great business expertise, whether in creating financial models and projections, understanding and capitalizing on strategic opportunities, risk- and value-based prioritization, or pragmatic product development frameworks like Lean (Eric Ries) and PULL (Rob Snyder)

Suggested Qualifications/Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in product management, software engineering, or a related technical/product role
  • Experience leading, building, or shipping software products and product teams in a cross-functional technology environment
