About Praxis Precision Medicines: Praxis Precision Medicines is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company translating genetic insights into high-impact therapies for central nervous system (CNS) disorders characterized by neuronal imbalance. Grounded in our core values of Trust, Ownership, Curiosity, and Results, we share a unified vision to reshape the human condition and build scalable, clinical-grade commercial capabilities for patients and families living with complex brain disorders.

Position Overview

As we prepare for product commercialization, Praxis is entering a pivotal stage of growth. We are seeking a strategic and visionary Area Vice President of Sales to lead field execution and drive high-performance commercial success across key markets. This executive leader will be responsible for building, scaling, and managing top-tier regional sales and account management teams, working directly alongside senior leadership to architect a modern, agile, and operationally excellent cross-functional field organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Team Leadership: Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing regional sales operations and account management structures, embedding a highly accountable culture.
  • Commercial Strategy Execution: Drive unified, multi-regional execution parameters aligned directly with enterprise commercial goals and pre-launch, launch, and post-launch milestones.
  • Strategic Account Governance: Oversee high-level institutional engagement across major health systems, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Integrated Physician Networks (IPNs), and key insurance payer relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Partner tightly with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Patient Services, and Market Access units to streamline provider and customer engagement.
  • Infrastructure & Metrics Scale: Build scalable processes, field readiness infrastructure, and performance measurement frameworks to drive continuous territory optimization.
  • Market Feedback Loops: Funnel critical field insights and clinical competitive data back into leadership teams to shape long-term platform capability paths.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive commercial leadership experience in pharmaceutical sales management, including direct oversight of regional or national field sales teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a full national or multi-regional healthcare product launch in rare diseases, CNS, or specialty pharmaceuticals.
  • Proven track record managing strategic account operations, complex medical distribution channels, and IDN/IPN/payer dynamics.
  • Prior executive or director-level experience inside biotech startups or emerging high-growth pharmaceutical enterprises.
  • Strong systemic thinker capable of balancing rigorous tactical compliance with rapid, decentralized decision-making velocity.
  • Travel Flexibility: Fully remote opportunity based within the United States, requiring willingness and flexibility to travel as required by commercial priorities.

Preferred Assets

  • Prior executive or senior director-level commercial experience explicitly focused on Rare Disease or CNS (Central Nervous System) therapies.

Compensation & Premium Perks

  • Annualized Base Salary Range: $270,000 - $320,000 USD per year.
  • Discretionary quarterly performance bonuses, long-term stock equity incentives, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
  • World-class healthcare coverage featuring 99% company-paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance profiles.
  • Company-paid life insurance, AD&D allocations, short-term/long-term disability protections, and voluntary plan additions.
  • Dollar-for-dollar company 401(k) matching up to 6% of eligible contributions.
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO), dedicated paid calendar holidays, flexible wellness benefits, and recurring company-wide shutdowns.
