Job Description

Introduction

Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

Coinbase Canada is looking for a highly motivated accounting and finance professional to join our Global Controllership team and play a key role in our continued growth and achievement of operational excellence. The Accounting Manager, Canada CIRO must possess strong accounting, finance, operational and managerial expertise, an ability to communicate and work with various teams inside of Finance (such as Tax, FP&A, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Payroll and Accounts Payable), and a desire to make a meaningful impact on a dynamic, high-growth technology company.

Reporting to the Head of Global Reporting, Accounting Manager, Canada CIRO will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing portions of Coinbase Global’s operational finance and accounting tasks as well as ensuring adherence to the regulatory framework outlined by the Canadian Securities Administration (CSA) for Crypto Trading Platforms (CTPs) and National Instrument 31-103 and the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO). The position is designed for a highly-technical individual and will involve collaborating with a multi-national finance organization. This position will directly own the maintenance of the books of account under IFRS and will also include involvement in the close process including preparing and/or reviewing internal and external financial reporting and analyses. The role will require collaboration with various teams across the organization to ensure the complete and accurate delivery of reporting to senior management and the board of directors. This role will also play a crucial role in process design to include assisting with the implementation of controls and process improvements. This role requires someone with impeccable attention to detail, a financial and analytic mindset, and a strong desire to develop their career at a rapidly growing organization.
