About Bankjoy: Bankjoy is a high-growth, Y Combinator and Bessemer Venture Partners-backed fintech pioneer shifting how community banks and credit unions navigate the modern marketplace. We deliver a comprehensive, tech-driven, digital-first suite of tools spanning online banking layers, mobile account opening engines, loan origination pipelines, and conversational AI frameworks. By modernizing legacy banking tech infrastructure, Bankjoy accelerates digital transformation for regional financial institutions across North America.
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic, highly technical Product Manager III to own, architect, and drive the execution of Bankjoy’s next-generation business banking platform. In this senior role, you will sit at the intersection of complex payment networks, data modeling, and enterprise client relations. You will define the long-term product vision, translate abstract regulatory demands into robust user stories, and collaborate across engineering and design teams to ship secure, compliant fintech features. Additionally, you will serve as a cross-functional player-coach, providing direct leadership and structured mentorship to expand our junior product management ranks.
Key Responsibilities
- Ecosystem Roadmap Governance: Formulate and prioritize the end-to-end product roadmap for the business banking engine, converting client escalations, marketplace insights, and complex technical requirements into crisp specifications.
- Technical Payment Integration: Direct technical scoping discussions regarding core payment rails including ACH networks, wire transfers, credit card infrastructures, and real-time payments (RTP).
- Access Control Engineering: Define permission structures, role-based access tokens, and complex data encryption frameworks for enterprise platform architectures.
- B2B Client Interface Leadership: Serve as the lead product expert on client integration calls, synthesizing intricate Request for Proposal (RFP) parameters and sales team loopbacks into concrete roadmap features.
- Junior Team Mentorship: Provide structured engineering and product management guidance to junior PMs, establishing high-velocity execution metrics as Bankjoy scales.
- System Architecture Mapping: Collaborate deeply alongside engineering leads to outline system API designs, data exchange models, and scalable third-party vendor integration patterns.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of verified professional history in Product Management explicitly centered inside financial services or B2B fintech ecosystems.
- Deep technical fluency holding architecture discussions around REST APIs, core banking databases, and distributed software systems.
- Comprehensive practical command over modern payment compliance frameworks, security standards, and transactional clearing systems.
- Outstanding written and verbal presentation mechanics, optimized to translate technical limitations into clean business logic for multi-tier stakeholders.
- Demonstrated resilience operating with high accountability inside fast-moving, highly ambiguous software startup environments.
- Location Context: 100% remote-first operational infrastructure flexibility open to qualified product professionals permanently residing within Canada (with preference for Toronto, ON).
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience designing specialized tools or core software for credit unions, local cooperative lenders, or community banking layers.
- Familiarity navigating enterprise digital banking software models managed by vendors like **Q2, Apiture, Temenos, or Fiserv**.
What We Offer
- The exceptional professional canvas to completely steer the next-generation business banking pipeline for a well-funded fintech startup.
- Highly competitive base salary tier complemented by lucrative startup stock option packages.
- 100% employer-covered extended medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums for you and your family under a single, comprehensive Canadian coverage plan.
- Retirement savings framework featuring a dedicated 4% company-backed matching contribution.
- Generous Paid Time Off structure comprising 3-5 weeks of tenure-based PTO, 5 designated health days, 15 observed holidays, and a full end-of-year corporate shutdown.
- Up to 8 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents (4 weeks for non-birthing parents) alongside performance-based bonus payouts.
