Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary, deeply technical Principal AI Engineer to lead the cultural and architectural adoption of artificial intelligence across our entire engineering function. Reporting directly to the EVP, Chief Technology Officer, you will serve as both an AI thought leader and a core platform architect. This role involves moving beyond basic LLM prompts to design parallel multi-agent workflows, deploy resilient Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) code contexts, and implement self-healing pipeline patterns. You will mentor human engineers to evolve into “architects of intent,” establishing high-fidelity frameworks where AI agents safely automate development lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Workflow Transformation: Evaluate, design, and standardize the integration of autonomous AI development agents and coding assistants across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Multi-Agent Orchestration: Deploy collaborative agent architectures where separate planning, coding, and automated testing models run in parallel to execute complex PR generations, refactoring, and legacy code modernization.
• Self-Healing System Automation: Integrate autonomous agents directly with stack trace systems and Jira bug trackers to auto-locate root-cause errors, write a corrective PR, and attach a valid regression test prior to human triage.
• RAG Context Engineering: Architect high-fidelity RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) infrastructure to inject precise codebase architecture metadata into LLM windows for accurate execution planning.
• Codebase Modularity Hardening: Prioritize structural code refactoring to ensure internal repositories remain highly modular, explicitly documented, and optimized for AI agent parsing.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner alongside Product Management, CX leads, and engineering directors to translate complex HRIS expansion needs into scalable, secure, and production-grade AI applications on Azure.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional track record moving beyond standard conversational LLM endpoints to engineer complex agentic software development frameworks.
• Proven expertise building scalable RAG architectures, prompt management systems, and vector search loops within B2B SaaS ecosystems.
• Deep technical literacy managing cloud resources, with a definitive preference for Microsoft Azure serverless and event-driven architectures.
• Strong practical mastery over Agile, DevOps CI/CD patterns, and clean code principles.
• Outstanding cross-functional communication mechanics, optimized to explain complex non-deterministic AI capabilities to non-technical corporate executives.
• Location Context: 100% remote-first operational infrastructure availability open exclusively to qualified engineers permanently based within Spain.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or highly quantitative engineering branches.
• Experience overseeing external third-party technical vendors or scaling engineering teams through major automated digital transformations.
