About Onebrief & Battle Road Digital: Onebrief is an elite, $2.15B valuation unicorn crafting collaboration and AI-powered workflow software designed specifically for military staffs. Battle Road Digital, a specialized division of Onebrief, applies state-of-the-art innovations from the video game industry to build the future of military simulations and modeling. Powered by AtomEngine—our proprietary cloud-based game engine—we make the world playable by supporting turnkey simulations of millions of entities inside a persistent, planet-scale sandbox ecosystem.

Position Overview

We are seeking a technically minded, highly motivated Game Software Tester to help push the boundaries of our cloud-first AtomEngine platform. This isn’t a traditional manual black-box QA role; we are looking for a game developer hobbyist, script tinkerer, or modder who is deeply proficient in writing gameplay code. You will take ownership of testing AtomEngine’s developer ModKit, simulating complex multi-player war games, and identifying bottlenecks before our defense customers deploy custom system extensions.

Key Responsibilities

  • ModKit & Scenario Testing: Master AtomEngine mechanics to build, run, and evaluate highly technical single-player and multi-player war-game scenarios.
  • Comprehensive QA Diagnostics: Perform exhaustive Load Testing, Stability Testing, and Functionality Testing across cloud-native engine frameworks.
  • Bug Pipeline Management: Identify complex engine faults, build detailed test plans, write concise bug reports, and track execution feedback loops within the engineering lifecycle.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner directly with test leadership, developers, and innovators to stay unblocked and deliver actionable, high-fidelity test telemetry in real time.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of verified professional history in video game quality assurance, with a deep command of QA principles, methodologies, and infrastructure tracking.
  • Hands-on experience as a game developer hobbyist or modder, utilizing scripting or visual logic engines (such as Unreal Blueprints, Unity, or preferably GDScript).
  • Familiarity with PC gaming hardware configurations, version control setups, and enterprise bug tracking platforms.
  • U.S. Citizenship Mandate: Due to explicit federal defense contract criteria, U.S. Citizenship is completely non-negotiable.
  • Security Clearance: Willingness and clear structural ability to undergo and obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance.
  • Location Context: 100% remote-first operational infrastructure flexibility open to qualified quality engineers residing anywhere within the United States.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior technical exposure testing cloud-native applications, distributed real-time gaming clusters, or large-scale simulation physics models.
  • Familiarity with sandbox gaming structures or writing code for game mod communities.

What We Offer

  • Targeted Base Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 USD per annum (Supplemented by meaningful corporate equity options to share directly in our unicorn-scale success).
  • Comprehensive health coverage featuring medical, dental, vision, and company-backed life insurance models.
  • 401(k) retirement structure with a dedicated corporate employer matching contribution.
  • 8 weeks of fully paid parental leave (100% salary protection regardless of state parameters).
  • $1,000 annual home office budget allowance for workspace improvements alongside unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Annual company summit trips and retreats.
